A different next step

More ownership of your working life.

You may be ready to move from employment into consultancy, return to practice, or find a new home for an established specialism. We welcome conversations with experienced solicitors and other appropriately qualified fee earners who share our focus on sound advice and client care.

Established practitioners

Explore how your experience and client relationships could fit within Jagdev Legal.

Moving into consultancy

Work through the practical questions: workload, support, income, costs and the transition from your current role.

Returning to practice

Discuss your current skills, practising status and the support or development you would need before taking on work.

The Jagdev consultant pathway

A considered move.
A clear plan.

A successful move needs more than a fee-share headline. Our starting point is a conversation about what you want to build and whether we can provide the right setting.

This is a recruitment and onboarding pathway for legal professionals. It is not an accredited qualification course or a funded training academy.

  1. Explore the fitDiscuss your background, specialism, ambitions and preferred working pattern.
  2. Build the planConsider your likely workload, client development, required support and financial expectations.
  3. Agree the foundationsSet out commercial terms, responsibilities, systems access and any induction or supervision arrangements, subject to checks and approval.
  4. Review your developmentAgree how progress, client service, training needs and business development will be reviewed.

The conversation that matters

Shape the arrangement around the work.

Working flexibility

Discuss office, remote or blended working, taking account of your practice area, client needs and supervision.

Practice support

Agree the administrative, case-management and operational support needed, including what is included and what costs extra.

Professional standards

Clarify responsibility for onboarding, conflicts, file management, supervision and quality reviews before work begins.

Commercial clarity

Discuss fee share, payment timing, deductions, insurance arrangements and responsibility for unpaid bills.

Development

Identify the induction, mentoring and continuing development appropriate to your experience and proposed work.

Building relationships

Explore your approach to winning work and opportunities to collaborate. Referrals and a minimum caseload are not guaranteed.

Is this right for you?

Experience matters.
So does how you work.

We are interested in people who combine technical ability with practical judgement, clear communication and a responsible approach to running matters.

Tell us about your experience in family law, disputes, property, wills and probate, business law or another area that complements our practice.

What we will discuss

  • Your qualifications, practising status and experience.
  • Your ability to manage matters within your competence.
  • Your approach to client care, compliance and collaboration.
  • Your client-development plans and realistic workload expectations.
  • Any restrictions, notice period or support needs affecting a move.

Understand the economics before you move.

We do not publish a standard fee-share percentage or an earnings promise. Any proposal will depend on your practice, the support required and the terms agreed.

Ask for a written breakdown of the commercial arrangement. Consultancy status, tax responsibilities, insurance and exit terms should all be clear before you commit.

Your questions

Before we talk.

Do I need an existing client following?

Tell us about your current practice and how you plan to develop work. A following can be relevant, but we will assess each proposal individually. We cannot promise a flow of referrals.

Can I work remotely or part-time?

We are open to discussing different working patterns. The arrangement must suit the work, clients, supervision and the support available, and will be agreed individually.

What fee share and support do you offer?

Commercial terms and support are discussed individually. Before joining, clarify the percentage or payment basis, what it applies to, when you are paid, deductions and any additional charges.

Is this a route to qualifying as a solicitor?

No. This page is aimed at experienced legal professionals exploring consultancy. It does not offer a qualification programme or guarantee a training position. Any development or supervision will be agreed separately.

Can I bring my existing matters?

Any move of work needs appropriate checks and arrangements, including client choice, confidentiality, conflicts and your existing obligations. Do not send client files or identifying client information with your initial enquiry.

What happens after I get in touch?

We will review your background and proposed practice. If there appears to be a fit, we can arrange an initial discussion. Any appointment is subject to checks, agreement on terms and a written consultancy agreement.
